Product Overview

The protocol converter is implemented using a large-scale FPGA and employs reverse multiplexing technology to aggregate multiple E1 circuits for transmitting four 100BASE‑TX Ethernet channels, enabling bidirectional conversion between 1 to 4 E1 channels and an Ethernet optical interface. This device can transmit E1‑channel signals point‑to‑point to the Ethernet optical interface, thereby interconnecting E1 channels with the Ethernet optical interface. Unlike conventional remote bridges, this equipment supports flexible configuration of 1 to 4 E1 channels, automatically detects the number of available E1 links, and allows for configurable timing offsets among E1 circuits. The data rate per channel is 1,984 kbit/s, and the aggregate bandwidth of four channels can reach 7,936 kbit/s.

This device provides: four E1 interfaces (75 ohms) and four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interfaces.

Product Features

1. Achieve transparent transmission of Ethernet data over 1 to 4 E1 circuits.

2. It can perform reset operations on both local and remote devices.

3. Ethernet interface, 100BASE-FX, supports VLAN protocol.

4. Built-in dynamic Ethernet MAC address table (4,096 entries) with local frame filtering capability.

5. The data rate of a single E1 line is 1,984 kbit/s, and four E1 lines can achieve a total bandwidth of 7,936 kbit/s.

6. The four 10/100M Ethernet interfaces can be isolated from one another, enabling independent communication.

7. Each Ethernet port supports 10/100 Mbps, with full/half-duplex auto‑negotiation and AUTO‑MDIX (automatic crossover detection for both crossover and straight-through cables), and allows arbitrary configuration of the Ethernet operating mode.

8. The system allows setting a CRC alarm threshold to automatically isolate links with poor transmission quality, with unidirectional disconnection: when the bit error rate on one direction of a 2M tributary exceeds the threshold, only that direction is disconnected, while the other direction remains unaffected; in other words, the two directions of Ethernet transmission can be asymmetric.

9. Four E1 channels are permitted to have a transmission delay difference of up to 100 ms. When this difference exceeds the allowable threshold, the system can automatically cease transmitting data over the E1 channel with the excessive delay.

10. The E1 interface complies with ITU-T G.703, G.704, and G.823, and does not support the use of signaling timeslots.

11. The E1 interface module incorporates a built-in clock recovery circuit and an HDB3 codec circuit.

12. During operation, the device supports hot-swapping of E1 channels and automatically detects valid E1 channels, ensuring uninterrupted data transmission.

13. Supports flexible configuration of 1 to 4 E1 channels, automatically detecting the number of E1 lines and their latency upon reset and selecting the available E1 channels.
