GQ-ISPS08N

8‑channel serial port server, industrial DIN‑rail mountable

1. Employs an ARM9 processor with a 300 MHz clock speed, running the Linux OS OpenWrt system. 2. Supports two adaptive 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interfaces, providing dual IP and dual MAC addresses to meet multi‑network management or network backup requirements; the Ethernet interface supports 10/100Base‑T(X) auto‑negotiation and automatic crossover detection (MDI/MDIX). 3. The serial port supports non‑blocking communication at line speeds ranging from 300 bps to 150,000 bps, with automatic baud rate scanning and matching, as well as user‑defined baud rates. 4. The serial data interface offers two modes: 1) Each channel can be configured at the factory to provide one of three interfaces—RS‑232, RS‑485, or RS‑485; 2) Each channel can be equipped with all three interfaces—RS‑232, RS‑485, and RS‑485—and the specific interface type can be set on site via DIP switches. 5. Supports multiple operating modes, including Modbus TCP, TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP Server, and UDP Client.

Product Overview

The industrial rail‑mountable serial‑to‑Ethernet server features an IP40 protection rating and enables serial devices to gain network connectivity instantly. It allows distributed serial devices and hosts to be centrally managed over a network. This product supports 1 to 8 RS‑232/RS‑422/RS‑485 ports, each converting to two 100BASE‑TX Ethernet interfaces, meeting requirements for dual IP addresses, dual MAC addresses, multi‑network management, or network redundancy. It can be installed via a 35 mm DIN rail or wall‑mount, accommodating diverse on‑site application needs.

The serial‑to‑Ethernet server supports a wide range of network protocols, including TCP, UDP, ARP, ICMP, HTTP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP. It offers comprehensive management features such as access control, rapid configuration, and over-the‑air firmware upgrades. Each serial port can handle up to four concurrent TCP or UDP sessions and supports multiple operating modes, including Modbus TCP, TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP Server, and UDP Client. The device also provides web‑based access. Additionally, the accompanying Windows‑based management and configuration tool guides users step by step through device setup, enabling seamless integration of serial devices into the network with minimal effort. The network management interface is intuitively designed, easy to use, and delivers an excellent user experience.

The hardware features a fanless, low-power, wide‑temperature and wide‑voltage design, and has passed rigorous industry‑standard testing, enabling it to withstand the demanding EMC requirements of industrial environments. It is widely applicable to PLC control and management, building automation, healthcare automation systems, measurement instruments, and environmental‑energy monitoring systems, among others.

Product Features

1. It employs an ARM9 processor with a 300 MHz clock speed and runs the Linux OS OpenWrt system.

2. Supports two 10/100 Mbps adaptive Ethernet interfaces, providing dual IP addresses and dual MAC addresses to meet the needs of multi‑network management or network redundancy; the Ethernet interface supports 10/100Base‑T(X) adaptive operation and features auto‑negotiation (Auto‑Negotiation for full‑ and half‑duplex modes), as well as automatic crossover detection (MDI/MDIX).

3. The serial port supports non‑blocking communication at line rates ranging from 300 bps to 150,000 bps, features automatic baud rate scanning and matching, and allows users to define custom baud rates.

4. The serial data interface offers two modes: 1) Each channel can be configured at the factory to support one of three interfaces—RS‑232, RS‑485, or RS‑485; 2) Each channel is equipped with all three interfaces (RS‑232, RS‑485, and RS‑485), and the specific interface mode can be selected on-site via DIP switches.

5. Supports multiple operating modes, including Modbus TCP, TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP Server, and UDP Client.

6. Implemented transparent conversion from Modbus-RTU to Modbus-TCP, enabling network-based access to data from serial-port devices.

7. Supports monitoring of serial port status and parameters, providing a clear overview of the communication state.

8. Supports gateway functionality and inter‑router communication; also supports virtual serial‑port driver access mode and automatic connection recovery upon network interruptions.

9. Flexible serial-port data framing configuration, meeting users’ diverse packetization requirements.

10. Supports access by standard TCP/IP socket applications; TCP supports multiple connections, enabling up to four users to simultaneously monitor or manage serial‑port devices.

11. In UDP mode, it supports both standalone and multi‑host communication, enabling multiple users to simultaneously monitor or manage serial‑port devices.

12. Supports multiple configuration methods, including the Windows configuration utility, serial port, and web interface, and is compatible with SNMP network management.

13. Rail-mounted or wall-mounted installation.

14. Wide-Temperature Version: Operating temperature range –40°C to +85°C.
