Product Overview
The GQ5000‑G81‑SFP series fiber optic transceivers (also known as fiber optic switches) convert between Ethernet electrical and optical interfaces. Each switch is configurable with one Gigabit Ethernet electrical port and eight Gigabit SFP (Mini GBIC) ports, allowing the eight optical ports to connect to eight remote fiber optic transceivers for point‑to‑multipoint networking. It extends Ethernet transmission distances from 100 meters over copper cabling to 550 meters (multimode fiber) or 80 kilometers (single‑mode fiber). The device enables straightforward interconnection among multiple host servers, repeaters, hubs, and terminals. Featuring a mature switching core, a variety of fiber optic interfaces, and support for hot swapping, it offers flexibility, efficiency, and reliability. It is ideally suited for high‑performance, high‑reliability network environments such as telecommunications, broadcasting, broadband networks, and high‑definition video surveillance systems.
